About this course
Advanced Mermaid
PADI Advanced Mermaid builds on PADI Mermaid and prepares you for more demanding water and for professional training. The focus is control, confidence and consistency, with training in deeper confined water or open water depending on conditions and your progress.
How it works
- eLearning: about 3–4 hours of theory at home before you arrive.
- In the water: skill refinement, longer and more complex underwater sequences, and open-water awareness in the sheltered bays around Golfo Aranci.
Who it suits
PADI Mermaids who want to swim with more control and grace, mermaid performers and anyone planning to become a PADI Mermaid Instructor - Advanced Mermaid is the required step before the instructor course.

Course structure
Stage 1
eLearning
Theory at your own pace: trim, propulsion, breath control, the differences between pool and open water, and environmental awareness.
3–4 hours
Stage 2
Skill refinement
Trim, propulsion and energy efficiency in deeper confined water, with longer breath-hold sequences built up safely.
Day 1
Stage 3
Open water
Putting it together in the sea: longer underwater sequences, group movement and handling problems with control.
Day 2

In-water training in deeper confined water and/or open water
Skill coaching from a PADI Mermaid Instructor
Video or photo feedback on your technique where conditions allow
PADI Advanced Mermaid certification on completion

Prerequisites
- PADI Mermaid (or equivalent mermaid certification)
- Minimum age 12
- Able to swim 100 m without aids and float for 10 minutes
